Children and Youth - Stay Safe

Please follow the below safety rules - 

  • Never give personal details to strangers

  • Never send nude, indecent and inappropriate photos to anyone

  • Never meet with a stranger that you met online

  • Let your parents know when you have any meetings, especially one to one meetings

Please tell an adult if anything in the below list occurs. An adult can be a parent or a leader in the Church that you trust - 

Tell an adult if anyone has hurt you or made you feel uncomfortable in any way

  • Tell an adult if you see something concerning between another child and adult

  • Tell an adult if anyone sends you photos which are inappropriate or upsetting

  • Tell an adult about any cyber bullying

  • Tell an adult if strangers are asking for personal details or photos

Guidance for Adults

Please follow the below safety rules - 

  • You can only help out in children’s and youth events if you have been DBS checked and trained

  • Avoid one to one meetings with children and youth where possible

  • Be aware of visitors or strangers at events

  • Communicate plans for events with the parents

If you suspect any abuse, please report it to your local safeguarding focal point. You can also email safeguarding@wordinternational.org.uk or call Josh Fernandez on +44 7588 111 474. Examples for reporting include, but are not limited to, the following - 

  • Report if you suspect a relationship between an adult and child

  • Report if you suspect an adult of making advances on a child or youth

  • Report if you see new physical marks on a child or youth

  • Report if you observe a drastic change in behaviour in a child or youth

  • Report if a child or youth is showing signs of neglected healthcare 

  • Report if you suspect a child is being bullied

  • Report if you are worried about a child's mental health, especially any risk of suicide
